  • Cornice profile, standard cove is the fastest to match
  • Number of rooms done in the one visit
  • Whether insulation, downlights or fans need to be moved

Service area

Ceiling repairs from Perth's northern suburbs to south of the river

Servicing homes across the Perth metropolitan area, from Yanchep to Rockingham and throughout the surrounding suburbs.

North of the river that covers the coastal and inland corridor through Joondalup, Wanneroo and Stirling to the CBD. South of the river we work through Victoria Park, Canning Vale, Fremantle and Cockburn down to Baldivis and Rockingham. Same 24 hour quote, same finish, wherever you are.

How do you repair a water damaged ceiling?

Fix the leak first, then replace the damaged board. Plasterboard that has been soaked loses its strength and will stain, sag or grow mould if it is simply painted over. We cut out the affected section, check the joists and insulation are dry, fit new board and flush it into the existing ceiling so the repair disappears.

If the ceiling is holding water or visibly sagging, keep everyone out of the room and contact us straight away.

FAQ

Ceiling repair questions, answered.

Anything else, just ask us or email info@pccwa.com.au.

How much does it cost to repair a ceiling in Perth?

Most small ceiling repairs in Perth cost $300 to $800, covering cracks, holes, cornice damage and drummy patches. A full room replacement runs $2,500 to $6,000 depending on size, ceiling type and access. Perth Ceiling Contracting quotes every job free and in writing before any work starts.

How much does it cost to repair a sagging ceiling in Perth?

It depends on how much of the ceiling has let go. If the plasterboard is dry and sound it can usually be screwed back to the joists and flushed, which is quoted on inspection. If the sheets are cracked, soaked or the sag runs across the whole room, a replacement at $2,500 to $6,000 per room is the safer fix. See sagging ceiling repairs.

Do plasterers repair ceilings?

Some do, but ceiling fixing is its own trade. Perth Ceiling Contracting works on ceilings and wall linings every day, so we carry the right board, cornice profiles, screws and setting compounds to match what is already in your home and leave the repair invisible once painted.

How do you repair ceiling cracks?

We cut the crack back to sound board, tape the joint, then apply three coats of setting compound and sand it flat. Cracks along the cornice line are re-glued and re-fixed as well, otherwise the crack reopens after the next hot summer in the roof space. Painted over on its own, a crack always comes back.

How do you repair a water damaged ceiling?

Stop the leak first. We then cut out the soaked plasterboard, check the joists and insulation are dry, fit new board and flush it into the surrounding ceiling. Painting over a water stain without replacing the board leads to sagging and mould. We supply reports and quotes for insurance claims.

Can you repair plasterglass ceilings in older Perth homes?

Yes. Fibrous plaster ceilings in older Perth homes can be repaired when the damage is local and the sheet is still firmly fixed. Where a plasterglass ceiling is sagging in several places or the fixings have failed, we recommend replacing it with new gyprock, quoted at $2,500 to $6,000 per standard room.

Is it expensive to fix a ceiling?

Not usually. A patch or crack repair in Perth sits between $300 and $800, which is small next to the cost of leaving it. Cracks let heat and moisture in, drummy sheets end up on the floor, and water damage spreads. The quote is free, so you can find out the exact number without spending anything.

Do you cover Perth's northern suburbs and south of the river?

Yes. We service the whole Perth metropolitan area from Yanchep in the north to Rockingham in the south, including the northern suburbs, the CBD, and south of the river through Fremantle, Cockburn and Baldivis. Dedicated pages cover ceiling repairs in Rockingham and ceiling repairs in Joondalup.
